PRESSURE REDUCTION DISCS (ORIFICE PLATES)
In addition to being meters, calibrated diaphragms can also function as devices for pressure reduction or flow rate limitation. They are commonly used in services such as vents, drains, and centrifugal pump recirculation, or wherever a fixed value pressure reduction is required. Since these are fixed geometry devices, the calculation of the calibrated bore must be carried out precisely, considering all the variables involved. If a reduction in the generated noise level is necessary, a multi-hole diaphragm can be supplied.
MULTI-STAGE PRESSURE REDUCTION DISCS
For applications on gases with a high required pressure drop value or on liquids with the possible presence of cavitation, a single diaphragm is generally not sufficient to achieve the required pressure drop. In these cases, a pressure reducer composed of multiple diaphragms placed in series is supplied, welded inside a pipe section with flanged or weld-on ends.
